Simple and beautiful stage that starts from the free parking of Llanos del Hospital. We will walk along a comfortable path that very gently gains height without any technical difficulty., but framed in a postcard setting. Upon reaching Besurta, the path becomes rockier and now the slope becomes more pronounced to gain meters and get closer to the Renclusa Refuge.. Before reaching the refuge we will have a waterfall on our right where if we feel like it we can make a stop to contemplate the numerous peaks that surround us..

Renclusa Refuge – Artiga de Lin Refuge

La Renclusa Refuge – Plan d’Aigüalluts – bull collar – Ibon de Toro de Salenques – Artiga de Lin Refuge

Starting from the La Renclusa refuge (2 140 m), we ascend along the path to Cuello l'Anchor to descend to the Plan Alto d'Aiguallut, we can take a little detour to enjoy the spectacletoass offered by the waterfall and the «Best» the sink of Aiguallut. We cross the plain until we find a signaling post indicating Coll de Toro. We continue along a less marked path than the previous one and as we go up we will be contemplating the greatness of the place. It is highly recommended to look at where we come from to appreciate the beauty of the place. Once we have overcome the first short ascent we stand on a plate and right in front of us we will see the Coll de Toro. We continue along the marked path and from the pass we enter the Valley of Aràn.

The Ibón de Toro is a mandatory stop to eat something and lie down in the meadow that embraces it. We skirt it on the left through a stony area and begin the descent. From the top you can see the Refuge located in the heart of the Arán Valley.

Artiga de Lin Refuge – Venasque Refuge

From the Vall de Arán to France through the Col de la Picada

We leave the Artiga de Lin refuge along a path through the forest that rapidly gains height. We will cross the river by a metallic bridge and we will go up the Pomero canal, an open valley of low vegetation with a large presence of cattle., due to this it is important to be attentive to the path. Arriving at the Coll del Lunfern to our right an aesthetic path called Paso de la Escaleta deserves to be visited if we go with time and strength.

We access the coll de la Picada 2,744m and from here the panoramic view of the Aneto and Maladeta glacier is the best you can have in the entire Benasque valley. From the Portillón de Benasque we have two options depending on the time , Either go down directly to the Venasque refuge or take the variant of the Salvaguardia peak. Venasque Refuge – Hospital Plains

Venasque Refuge – Safeguard – Besurta – Hospital Plains

We left the French refuge of Venasque, We go up the hill that we went down in the previous stage and once at the Portillón de Benasque we decide if we want to do the Salvaguardia peak or we go down directly to Llanos del Hospital. We go down with a tendency to our right along a very marked path that takes us directly to Llanos del Hospital.

Peak Safeguard Variant

Peak Safeguard 2.736 m it is one of the most accessible peaks within the valley in summer, although it has its difficulties. From the Puerto de Benasque we will follow the path that goes to the left and that goes up the crest. A zigzag path that you have to walk carefully, there is even an area of ​​large rocks secured by a string to progress more safely.

The final part is much easier, even the final crest section has no difficulty. You have to be careful in case of snowfields and assess the situation well.
